APPLICATION

Applicants will be required to submit a resume and a brief personal essay. Applicants will be interviewed at the Atlantic National Angus Show on Friday, May 24, 2024. Merit Award applicants will be given a specific time for an interview on Friday morning. The first interview will start at 8:00 and times will be given in 10-minute increments.  Applicants will receive their appointed time via email by Thursday, May 23rd. 

Applicants will find out if they have been selected for the Merit Award during the awards presentation prior to selection of Grand Champion Female on Sunday. All applicants MUST be present on Sunday to receive the award if selected.

To qualify for the application you must:


1. Active participant or exhibitor at a previous AN Show.


2. Active Member of NJAA or the AAA.


3. High School graduate or senior in good standing.


4. Max age of 25 years of age as of January 2024.


5. Must be available for a personal interview on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 8:00am.  Merit Award applicants will be given a specific time and location for an interview on Friday morning. The first interview will start at 8:00, and times will be given in 10-minute increments.



Application Procedures:

1. Download and complete the application form, if necessary attach additional information. All items must be submitted through the site. Please submit an application in TYPED format.


2. Write an essay free of spelling and grammar errors.  Your essay should be more than 1 page but not to exceed 2 pages.  Please keep the text size 12 and use Times New Roman font.


ESSAY TOPIC:  Please reflect on your involvement in the junior program and discuss how it has empowered you to advocate for the beef industry. In what ways has your participation shaped your understanding of the industry and equipped you with the skills necessary to promote its importance and sustainability?


DEADLINE: Application and Essay due MAY 15, 2024.
